Can NASP-Approved Courses Count for Wyoming Renewal?

✓
Yes — Wyoming Specifically Recognizes NASP-Approved Continuing Education

Wyoming's continuing education requirements specifically identify program-designed activities reviewed and approved by NASP as qualifying continuing education.

Under Wyoming's transition policy for CE submitted with 2026 and 2027 renewals, at least 10 CE hours must be earned through program-designed activities reviewed and approved by APA or NASP.

The newer Chapter 18 requirements also retain this standard: at least 10 of the required 40 CE hours must consist of APA- or NASP-approved courses.

3 Risk Assessment Hours At least 3 CE hours must address risk assessment during each two-year CE cycle.
CHAPTER 18

Wyoming Ethics and Risk Assessment Requirements

Under Wyoming's newer Chapter 18 continuing education rules, psychologists, psychological practitioners, and Specialists in School Psychology must complete at least 3 CE hours in ethics and 3 CE hours in risk assessment every two years.

Wyoming defines risk assessment as including learning related to harm to self, harm to others, inability to care for oneself, or a combination of these concerns.

APA or NASP approval is not specifically required for the ethics and risk assessment hours themselves, although qualifying APA- or NASP-approved courses may also be used when they satisfy the applicable content requirement.
