Accessibility & Accommodations

Child & School Psychology CE (CSPCE) is committed to making its continuing education programs accessible to individuals with disabilities. Accessibility is considered when courses are planned, developed, delivered, evaluated, and revised, consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

How our courses are designed

CSPCE courses are asynchronous, self-paced, online home-study programs. As applicable to each course, we:

  • Organize content with clear, logical headings and structure that work with screen readers and other assistive technologies
  • Use readable text with appropriate color contrast, and support browser zoom, enlargement, and other display adjustments
  • Support keyboard navigation and other non-mouse ways of moving through lessons, activities, and assessments
  • Use descriptive link and button text and provide alternative text for meaningful images
  • Avoid relying on color alone to communicate essential information
  • Provide captions and/or transcripts for any audio or video content, and use readings that are compatible with screen readers
  • Let you move through material at your own pace during your 1-year access period and return to lessons as often as needed
  • Design learning activities and final assessments with accessibility in mind

Requesting an accommodation

If you encounter a barrier or need an accommodation, such as an alternative format of a reading, an alternative way to complete an activity or assessment, or extended access, please contact Jaime Flowers, Ph.D., Program Administrator, at jaime.flowers@childschoolpsychologyce.com. Please include the course title and a brief description of what you need.

  • We will respond to your request within 5 business days.
  • Requests are considered individually, based on the course and your needs. We will make reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate accommodation, modification, alternative format, or alternative way to access content or complete a requirement.
  • You will not be denied CE credit because you need an accessible alternative, as long as you complete the essential learning and assessment requirements through the approved method.
  • Information about your disability or accommodation request is kept confidential and shared only as needed to provide the accommodation.

Reporting a barrier

If something on our website or in a course is difficult to use with your assistive technology or device, please tell us. We review each report for your immediate need and for broader changes to our courses or website. Accessibility feedback is part of our ongoing program evaluation, and we review the site and course materials periodically.

Concerns

If you are not satisfied with how an accessibility request was handled, you may use our CE Complaint & Grievance Procedure.
